Food and Farming question from Jackie Thompson, farmer from Upton Bishop

At the Future of Local Food and Farming debate that took place at Newent Community School on 3 April 2009, Jackie Thompson submitted the following question:

How do most of the answers given by the panel so far fit in with the almost universal scientific predictions that unless within a very few years we reduce our carbon use by 80%, we shall face runaway climate change that will produce perhaps unimaginable destruction?
